State Internship

The State of Alabama offers a wide variety of internships throughout the year!

A State Internship is a great way to engage in career exploration and strategic career planning. Students can gain marketable on-the-job experience and build valuable professional connections. Internships can put you on the right path to future professional achievement and success and help jumpstart your career by giving you a competitive edge in your job search.

A State Intern may be hired full-time, part-time, hourly, or semi-monthly. The State Intern may co-op (work a semester and then attend school a semester) or work during holidays and summers. To qualify, students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year or two-year college or university. Internships may be paid or unpaid, and students can earn academic credit as part of their education.

State Interns are hired directly by individual State agencies. Students who want to apply for an internship may submit their State Intern Application directly to the department for which they wish to work.
